The Cedarwood scent is gentle, woody, warming and somewhat reminiscent of Sandalwood.Cedarwood is a warming oil that helps to boost the circulation. It also helps to decongest the lymphatic system. I like to use Cedarwood in combination with Rosewood.
Cedarwood has a remarkable ability to calm and soothe the nerves. It is beneficial for all states of nervous tension as it instils peace and tranquillity. Put a few drops of Cedarwood in an oil burner or on a tissue. Try 2 drops Cedarwood, 2 drops Sandalwood and 2 drops Ylang Ylang in your bath or 2 drops Cedarwood, 2 drops Frankincense and 2 drops Clary Sage to bring about a state of deep relaxation.
It is also a wonderful oil for meditation. My 3 favourite oils for meditation are Cedarwood, Frankincense and Linden Blossom.Cedarwood is also used a great deal in skin care. It is particularly useful for oily skin as it balances the production of sebum. Try 1 drop Cedarwood, 1 drop Lemon and 1 drop Cypress in 10mls (2 teaspoons) carrier oil or 10gms cream.
Cedarwood also makes a lovely aftershave oil. Try 2 drops Cedarwood and 1 drops Sandalwood per 10 mls (2 teaspoons) carrier oil.
On a spiritual level Cedarwood heals the spirit.
