Patchouli was a very popular oils in the 60s and was favoured by the hippies. This is because of its ability to instil love, peace and calm so they knew which oil to choose!

The musky aroma of Patchouli acts as a powerful aphrodisiac. It has a fairly strong aroma and it’s a bit like Marmite you either love it or you hate it! To stimulate sexual desire sprinkle a few drops in an oil burner and allow the sensual aroma to diffuse into the atmosphere.
Other useful oils for enhancing your libido include Jasmine, Rose, Ylang Ylang and Sandalwood.
So why not try to make your own love potion.
Simply put 1 drop of your chosen 3 oils in 10mls (2 teaspoons) carrier oil.

Patchouli is a deeply relaxing oil and is used a great deal for the nervous system. It can be used for all states of stress and tension and also helps to lift depression. I like to blend Patchouli with the citrus oils as well as Lavender, Neroli, Frankincense and Rose for stress related problems. Try 2 drops Patchouli, 2 drops Bergamot and 2 drops Lavender in the bath to balance your emotions. If the depression is more deep seated try Patchouli with Rose and Neroli.

Patchouli oil has a beneficial effect on the skin and is particularly recommended for mature skin, wrinkled skin, cracked and chapped skin and loose skin after dieting.
It’s a lovely oil to put in a handcream with Benzoin  and Myrrh and/or Sandalwood to heal and prevent cracks in the hands and the feet.

On a spiritual level Patchouli encourages forgiveness of others and deflects away jealousy and hatred.
