The earthy aroma of Vetivert so reminiscent of roots is perfect for when you feel ungrounded and have that 'out of the body' feeling. Put a drop on a tissue and inhale deeply to bring yourself back to earth.Vetivert is also excellent for defecting away negativity for before it reaches you and if you have picked up any negativity use it to cleanse yourself.
If you feel very depleted and unbalanced then try 2 drops Vetivert, 2 drops Sage and 2 drops Juniper in the bath.Vetivert has a calming and soothing effect on the nervous system and is helpful for relieving insomnia.
It is deeply relaxing and calms body and mind.
If you feel agitated try 1 drop Vetivert, 1 drop Lavender and 1 drop Ylang Ylang in 10mls (2 teaspoons) carrier oil and massage into your feet or hands. You will really start to let go and relax.Vetivert really is the ‘Oil of Tranquillity’. I use it on clients who have deep psychological pain and those who are trying to come off their tranquillisers and addictive substances.
Vetivert is also excellent for tight muscles and stiff joints. It is a wonderful muscle relaxant. Try 1 drop Vetivert, 1 drop Frankincense and 1 drop Spearmint in 10mls (2 teaspoons) carrier oil and massage the affected area – you will experience relaxation and pain relief. If you are unable to reach the area then use 2 drops of each of these oils in a bath.
On a spiritual level Vetivert is useful as a protective shield particularly if the person is very sensitive.
